Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve
Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve, nestled at the mouth of the Tāmaki Estuary, is a cherished sanctuary for both wildlife and the community. Its restored bush-covered hills, freshwater wetlands, ponds, foreshore, and saltmarsh provide vital habitats for local and migratory species and a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts.

Access is from the car park entrance at the eastern end of West Tāmaki Road. Pedestrians can also access from Roberta Reserve and Vista Crescent.
There are no toilets in the reserve.
Dogs are prohibited from the nature reserve including the beach and foreshore areas, see map.
Cycling is also prohibited in the nature reserve.
