Create Habitat

Create habitat

Retaining existing vegetation, planting more native species and removing weeds and competitive exotic species can help to increase and enhance habitat for native birds, reptiles and insects in the Eastern Bays.

A diverse range of native plant species has been suggested for the Eastern Bays. Groundcovers, shrubs and small trees (< 10m) are generally suited to smaller properties whereas large trees (> 20m) could be readily planted in parks, reserves and some road corridors without blocking sunlight or the view of surrounding properties.
